VGM Group’s Q1 Community Giving Focuses on Accessibility

Providing accessibility to children of all ages and abilities can inspire inclusion and build a stronger community. For Q1 of 2024, VGM supported two organizations to help achieve their goals of providing all children with a space where they can join in some fun.

Donations for the two organizations totaled $20,000. Learn more about them below.

Kindness Square Inclusive Playground - New Hampton, IA

Donation amount: $10,000

Chickasaw County’s only inclusive playground will replace the deteriorating equipment at Runion Park next to St. Joseph Community School and MercyOne Medical Center in New Hampton. Inclusive play spaces and parks welcome people, especially children, of all abilities to play, learn, and grow together. These parks not only allow children of all abilities to play together but they allow adults of all ages and abilities to actively engage with children in their care. Kindness Square Inclusive Playground will offer just the right level of challenges for all abilities to have the chance to succeed. It’s a place where all children and adults can interact together and do what everyone wants to do: PLAY!

All-Play Ballpark - Parkersburg, IA

Donation amount: $10,000

After the F5 tornado in Parkersburg in 2008, one of the reconstruction efforts for the town was to raise funds and revamp the youth sports facility. Thanks to the help of the Cedar Valley community, the All-Play Ballpark officially opened and held its first ballgame in 2018.

The All-Play Ballpark offers three youth soccer fields, three little league ball diamonds, a senior league baseball field, and the Cedar Valley’s first inclusive Miracle League ball diamond—home of the Cedar Valley Miracle League.
