Waterloo, Iowa. – VGM Heartland Conference, an annual event for home medical equipment providers from around the country, was awarded the 2014 Cedar Valley Tourism Award for “Event of the Year.”
The educational conference brings more than 1000 attendees and exhibitors from the United States and Canada to downtown Waterloo, Iowa and features social events including a hog roast, a fireworks display and a themed gala party.
“Our goal every year is to provide a superior educational conference for our membership, while showing off our Cedar Valley hospitality and charm,” commented Sarah Eisenman, the events manager at The VGM Group, Inc.
“The conference brings crowds to downtown Waterloo, primarily to the Five Sullivan Brothers Center and downtown restaurants and bars. We will also provide transportation to Main Street Cedar Falls for shopping, and to the VGM campus and brand new John Deere Museum for tours,” commented Eisenman.
The “Event of the Year” award is given to a hallmark event or festival that created significant economic impact, attracted substantial out-of-town visitors, generated positive media attention and/or positively promoted the Cedar Valley as a victory destination. Award winners were chosen based on “public voting” by survey that was circulated online.
“We’re honored to receive this award that combines the two things I care about deeply, our VGM members and the Cedar Valley,” commented Van Miller, CEO and Founder of the VGM Group, Inc.
VGM Heartland Conference will be held on June 15-18, 2015. More information and registration is available at
