As a way of thanking HME providers for the good they do for their communities, VGM Insurance is giving awards of $1,000 throughout the year to companies that provide the most compelling nominations of a local charity.
Now a third of the way through the campaign, they have already given $6,000 dollars to deserving charities across the nation!
We’re pleased to announce the first May winner, Anthony J. Filippis of Wright & Filippis, based in Rochester Hills, Mich. Anthony nominated the Athletes with Disabilities Network.
The Athletes with Disabilities Network strives to promote a better quality of life for people with physical disabilities by creating awareness and offering opportunities to get involved with athletic, recreational and educational activities nationwide. ADN organizes a number of programs and scholarship opportunities including the Athletes with Disabilities Hall of Fame, the Extremity Games, as well as a Mentoring and Outreach program.
The second May winner comes from Raleigh, N.C. Deb Stalls of Stalls Medical nominated The ALS Association: Jim “Catfish” Hunter Chapter.
The Jim “Catfish” Hunter Chapter focuses on helping North Carolina patients and families living with ALS through the provision of durable medical equipment and services, education, community service, and advocacy. They also support the national ALS Association office to help fund the research for finding a cure for the disease.
