Employee Owned. 100%.

Central to our entire business is the fact that our company is owned in its entirety by our employees. This means everyone here has a vested interest in seeing our customers succeed. Because when our customers do well, our company does well. And every employee owner benefits, through a contribution to our employee stock ownership plan—or ESOP—retirement accounts.

Employee Ownership and Company Culture

It only takes one person, one act, one idea to positively impact the business. And it all starts with our employee owners. We call this the Power of One. We are guided by our Power of One principles, ideas we embrace each day. These include:

  • Own Your Ownership
  • Protect Our Company
  • Cheer Each Other On
  • Make a Difference
  • Create Your Future
  • Provide Meaningful, Memorable Service
  • Welcome Change
  • Find the Fun in Your Day

Through these principles, employee owners drive the growth of our company. An investment in them is really an investment in our company. With that support, employee owners achieve some incredible accomplishments. Learn more about it on the Recognition page.

Create Your Future

Mariellys Gutierrez is one employee owner who truly embodies VGM’s culture of empowerment and professional development. Originally from Venezuela, Mariellys was working as a packer in VGM Fulfillment’s Nashville location in 2017. She saw the opportunities available and set out to seize them.

Soon, she took a supervisor role in a new department. If that weren’t enough to learn, Mariellys also started improving her English skills, trading homecooked meals for lessons from her husband’s grandfather. And she has kept learning and growing, right into her current position as regional manager of VGM Fulfillment’s southern facilities in Phoenix and Nashville.

Mariellys shows that, at VGM, every employee owner can create their future. There’s always another opportunity to grow and more to learn. That’s one reason Mariellys enrolled in the VGM Language Learning Program, launched in June 2023, to continue improving and better connect with her peers.
